Strong-willed Eka, her long-suffering daughter, Marina and rebellious granddaughter Ada live together in an apartment in Tbilisi, Georgia. Eka treasures the letters her beloved son, Otar, sends to her from Paris, so when Marina and Ada get word that Otar has died, they decide they must keep up the illusion that he is still alive.
