In the the first three programs, hosts Justine Shapiro, Ian Wright and Megan McCormick present culture, history, and natural sights as they journey through the Middle East, particularly Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel, Sinai, and the Arab Gulf states. The fourth program is an additional short history special in which various hosts visit historically important locations in the Middle East and discuss religion and culture, including the impact of numerous wars.
Traveler Ian Wright starts his journey in Jordan's Wadi Rum Desert, traveling south past the ruins at Petra and then on to Beirut in Lebanon. He ends his journey in Syria at the ancient town of Palmyra. Further, south traveler Megan McCormick visits battle scarred Kuwait before traveling on to Dubai and finally Oman. Justine Shapiro completes the journey traveling through Israel and the Sinai Desert.
