A mere five years into the future, the brutal government-sanctioned regime, The Boots, executes a carefully orchestrated genocidal campaign called The Renovation. Their target? Guiding them in the use of weapons and close-quarters combat is Beck, a gay white ally and rogue army officer. Contrasting cultures--the humour of the drag queens and the terrifying reign of the Boots--Catherine Hernandez brings us a vision of the future the seeds of which are all too apparent today. Crosshairs is a cautionary tale filled with fierce and vibrant characters, who want only for Others like them to thrive and be loved as their true selves.
