Follows the life of Arthur Lunn from a child in a working-class family in the Okanagan Valley to an ailing homeless man on a Vancouver sidewalk in 1995. The trauma from a particular event shapes everything that follows in his life, from his time as a soldier in World War Two to his nomadic working days in logging camps across British Columbia to his relationship with his one true love, Rose.
